What the hell is happening?

Three wagons overturned already this morning :

A1 Northbound County Durham.
A1 Southbound Retford.
M62 Eastbound J34/35 Load of Salmon.

Take it easy.

Don’t worry tge DCPC is going to stop all this happening.

Something fishy about that M62 accident if you ask me

I passed the A1 at Auckland this morning and saw a city link double decker in the middle of the road. Not sure if it was him who over turned?

Is it worse or is it the fact most of us have smart phones and use social networking and forums like this so we now hear of accidents at the other end of the country.
Look at that Transam motor had a bad smash in Norway or Sweden 15 years ago Transams drivers and a handful of Brits in the area would have known about it and maybe a couple of dozen more they met on the boat or in a truckstop would have heard but now it’s all over the net in minutes.

Well, it just took me 15 years to hear about that one

We’re almost there.

They were just doing their job to earn a “crust”.

Got stuck in the one at Retford this morning, we must’ve been just a few minutes behind it cos we passed the exit slip at Clumber Park and got stuck just before the entry slip. Sat for 90 mins, saw the ambulance and highway repairs crew arrive, then the coppers eventually turned us around and sent us off the A1 up the entry slip. Coming back tonight there’s a section of central reservation barrier as long as an artic that’s coned off and been flattened. Could be that the driver got a wheel in the verge and it’s pulled him in?

"The A1 reopened at 0930 (15/3/13) following an earlier accident in which a lorry overturned. The HGV was travelling North when it overturned onto the Southbound carriageway near Ranby at 0455.

No serious injuries were reported but one person was arrested at the scene.

The road was closed for around four and a half hours while debris and a diesel spillage were cleared and damage to the central reservation was repaired."

I wonder why one got arrested  Weird. I hope he didn’t fall asleep.

The A1 is terrible when it has only two lanes. It takes no prisoners.

I use the M1 whenever possible.

ah, assumed the accident was a southbound vehicle as southbound was shut and gridlocked and radio said only one lane northbound had closed. must’ve come straight through the barrier then. lucky escape if no serious injuries

Quite so, we are so far behind the times up here Scott has only just arrived in the Antarctic, and I hear they are going to build a super fast dual carriageway between London & Leeds

the a1 retford one , he did get arrested

Performed by delusional LGV licence holders who believe they are professionals, who have absolutely no idea what they are doing!!
Any one that puts a wagon on its side on a wide straight piece of road, has serious problems with their driving ability.

the one on the a1 at retford was a rigid 4 wheeler, looked more than 7.5 tonne but less than a 17 tonner, i lost about 2hrs there, until recovery picked it up and sat it on top of the central barrier at which point they let southbound go through.
