I’ve read press reports of a second recession on the way, is it me or has it gone a bit quiet? If not, a heads up on traction only work in the North East would be nice.
not a 2nd recession. we are still in the first.
we must take to the streets and cause a riot, burn some banks, stuff like that.
it’s good for the ecconomy. funeral directors, florests, builders, police officers, ambulance crews, firemen, and hauliers will all be busy.
and lets not forget the do gooders, they will be paid stupid amounts of money to tell us how naughty it is to riot.
everyones a winner, everbodies happy.
Hmm taking to the streets? Didn’t we try that with fuel protests? Didn’t do much good as we are still being ripped off.
It just seems really quiet up here in the grim north. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong places.
I think it’s everywhere mate not just the North East.I can’t see it picking up for months maybe even years.
Not sure myself , reading the above . Our loads are in the construction sector and we are as busy as ever . There are loads of agency drivers working out of my depot , mostly on nights , double manning what would normally be parked up rigs . The company has also been hiring lately for the first time in a couple of years .On top of all that there is no space left for parking trucks in the yard and some have had to be parked up elsewhere .
I have also noticed an increase in activity on many of the building sites that went dormant when the Brown stuff ( capital intended ) hit the fan .I’d imagine when the building sector gets busy , all other trade follows suit as the reverse was the case at the start of the recession .
Lets hope so anyway , glass half full and all that

See your in Rugby Shade. A few of my truck driving mates are down there in shared accom working for nft and the like, agencies are phoning them all the time saying they’re short of drivers, what a difference a few hundred miles makes. Good money but they’re away all week and having to pay digs, food and a few bills. Still better than sitting around up here for nowt:)
