£24K for driving the Queen around

And you thought you were underpaid!!

There is a vacancy for the role of the Queens chauffeur and it only pays 24k a year. Would you take that job for the crap wage?

H.

Are the perks any good? :stuck_out_tongue:

Good book deal after a few years - followed by a swift ‘accident’ before you get to see any of those £’s roll in…

How often would she be driven around, she travels the world, you would be twiddling your thumbs with all the other chinless flunkies.

More likely to see the uphill gardeners than totty in those circles. :unamused:

I dunno when I did some delivery work to some of the property’s we’d get meals given and the totty that use to bring it down to us well :open_mouth:

The amount of actual driving is likely to be quite low - and most of it would be just you and the motor, with Her Maj doing the bulk of the journey by other means. Quite a lot of cleaning/polishing though - which might well appeal to some lorry drivers.

You get the well used royal nanny when you retire …

I can see it now “Frank do we have to have the pelmet with tassels”

They say when you clean and sweep the inside of the car any odd diamond or sapphires you find you can keep, now that don’t sound to bad

I’d take it!

The role is based at Buckingham Palace and comes with a salary of £24,000, as well as live-in quarters, meals and 33 days of holiday.

So, its actually £24K + gourmet meals, 5* living accommodation and tons of time off. All for just driving a car about & giving it a polish. It’d certainly make your CV stand out from the pile for any future jobs too!! (Assuming you’d fancy going back to 4am starts & dossing in laybys.)

Not a bad deal tbh. I know a few drivers on 25k tramping! 22k with free board and lodgings doesn’t sound too bad for a single person

Very good

Your right can not see the job being any long runs. When she comes to sandringham for Xmas, all the cars arrive on transporters and she comes by train. Think the rest come by helicopter.

Have you guys not seen Old Liz tear arsing around the palace grounds in your Landy?

She won’t be accepting former lorry drivers as her chauffeur. Not after the last one tried to strap her down on the rear seat… :open_mouth:

Well… since the DVSA started cracking down on unstrapped loads
