Hi Guys
Need to take a 24 off near Cardiff from middayish tomorrow. All I can think of is Cardiff Gate services anyone save me from MSA hell?
You can park usually on Bessemer Road/Penarth Road area with no trouble, only a ten minute walk into the city centre then. However, might be tricky tomorrow due to tech football, Cardiff v Swansea.
Would advise keeping away from the Rover Way area due to our traveller friends.
Another place could be one of the estates off Ocean Way, usually quiet on the weekends and a short walk into the city too!
cheers mate
Eastmoors Road in Cardiff City Centre(where Celsa steelworks are) pub across the road, walk over the weight limit bridge, down the side of the prison(keep the nick on your left) and you are in the city centre. Just walk through the pedestrianised area and you hit St Mary’s Street(think that’s the right name) where all the pubs are. Plus I don’t think the lady’s of the night work the Eastmoors Road patch anymore!

Very dodgy to park here now. Trucks are regularly broken into now. Drivers are watched going over to pub then cab is done. Not too bad if you park right down by security gate.
you would be better off parking at thornwell by homebase. Got a tesco and chinese right next door.
And you are only 20 minutes to cardiff.
Park in the.services … at least you can use the loos and wash ur hands after
Junction 32, head for A470 Merthyr, once on the A470 take second slip road for Caerphilly but take first exit, get in right hand lane then third exit at roundabout, next roundabout straight over and park anywhere on that road, mcdonalds and stuff there.
Or take 33, first left at roundabout, then take slip at culverhouse cross, first left at roundabout and park in B&Q which will be on your right.
First option is closer to the M4.
Come off at J30 and park in Cardiff gate services there’s a Toby Carvery nearby and Cardiff gate retail park is within walking distance when I stop there for a 45 it seems fairly quiet, and it’s only a small place with one road into the parking area and the garage is open all night which should deter thieves.
And if you need to get back to the A48M the A4232 goes straight to it. The M.S.A hell you speak of sounds like Cardiff west which is noisy and in the middle of nowhere.

decent boozer over the road aswell
I had to do thurrock last night ( the services that never sleeps ) so you can do Cardiff west lol …
The old cattle market,The Butts, Cowbridge.
Been parking there since 1980 no problems. Free of charge and two mins walk to pubs takeaways Waitrose Tesco etc etc. Ten min walk to leisure centre gor loos and showers
Risca. Park by the Tescos theres a little ind est walk over the river bridge into town pub called the Commercial, does good food also theres chippys and other takeaways 5 Mins north off J28
My star pick for Cardiff is:
Longwood drive just off j32 go all the way to the bottom & there’s a roundabout to turn round, just park on the road. There’s a mcdonalds & an asda at the top of the road, parking is busy with cars at the top & you may think you’ve been steered wrong but once you get further down there’s plenty of room. The road isn’t too busy either & nice & wide.
If you want a boozer & to socialise probly not for you though.
