No offence,Kate, but did you stop and ask the driver if he needed water or food, the UK sends supplies and money to Nepal earthquake victims, but does not care about a stranded driver in a foreign country.

He could wiped out by a lorry crashing in to him and should be in a hotel or safe place.
Probably because at the exact moment you stop to help a jobsworth copper will turn up and you will get a ticket for stopping on the hard shoulder
24 hours, that’s nowt!!! Broke down on the autopista outside Irun about 7pm Friday night, guy come up for a quick look and said see you Monday about 9am and that was where I stayed all weekend. Was not to bad got rocked to sleep every night.
I remember years ago (10 maybe) on the M4 near jct 10 a Turboliner with a front nearside blowout, 4 days it was sat there, the chap had managed to remove the old one himself but didn’t seem to be able to fit a new one or whether he even had a new one. Can’t remember what country it was from but possibly EE
