This one Next weekend.

And this one is on Sunday

From the North Rode Transport Show today.
Unfortunately this is the only photo that I have, due to SOMEONE forgetting to take his freshly-charged camera batteries
I did manage to find a purveyor of high-end batteries (12 AA batteries for £2) but they refused to fire up the camera at all. Took them back to the nice lady who asked me, “What do you expect for two quid?”
We live and learn.

003.JPGLeyland Autumn Transport Show 1330hrs, what a let down, this was the only commercial motor
on show, apart from the ones in the museum which you had to pay to photograph, (**** that) it cost enough
to get in.

A bit of a poor day for the shows jakdaw. We had planned to go to the Retro Show at Gaydon, but decided to stay at home because of the poor weather. Its a shame really because a lot of time and money goes into organising and running these events.
Cheers Dave.

The North Rode show was disappointing, too. About a dozen commercials, most of which have appeared on this site in the past, about 15 cars, a few motorcycles & tractors and the usual fifty-or-so stationary engines.
Seems like the best of the season for me were Llandudno, Kelsall & Smallwood. I’ll probably add Gaydon to the list next year when I’ve sampled it.

Gaydon is an excellent venue for lorry shows Casey. We have been there to several classic commercial shows and the two previous Retro shows. A shame that the weather wasn’t better yesterday.
Cheers Dave.

Have already pencilled in Gaydon for next year, Dave. Will probably take the camping equipment & make a weekend of it.

We hope to be there Casey. The classic show in May or June is the best for me, its got wagons going back to the 1950’s up until the 1980’s. The weather was excellent for that one this year.
Cheers Dave.

That’ll be the one for me. Any idea how to guarantee decent weather?

Classic Commercial Show and Auction at Donington Park on Saturday 2nd November.

Anyone coming to Darley Dale Transport festival at friden this weekend?

Dan

DE45 1LY 10am til 1700 hrs sat and sun, from Buxton a515 ,turn left at k&h and left again ,under the 10 ft ish bridge and follow your nose,or turn off the 515 at parsley hay dip to the left then right ,then follow the signs ,I am not exactly sure which field its in. Middleton by youlgreave

Cheers for that Dan.Will maybe try and get over that is if the missus hasn’t got anything planned.

I have been for a quick look tonight John ,the bridge is 10’9 and its not far from there on the right so turn at k&h is the better way.

Where were you off to here Dan.

Good question John ,that pic could be no older than 2009 as that’s when I started getting greedy on the logs and bought the net,i cant think where it is ? Must be local as I got the kids in .( looks better in the wet ).

Hadn’t thought about the wooden greedy boards, Dan?

Can’t get the mini digger over the sides then ,it misses by an inch as it is!
