20 foot containers

Ok, probably a really stupid question, but…

When. Carrying 2 20’s and delivering to separate destinations, is it legal to travel with the front one in the front position, or when the first is taken off do I ask them to move the front to the 20-foot position. Both boxes are empty btw. Long-winded but I think you’ll understand what I mean.

Is this on a rigid 40’ trailer or skelly?

I cant see why not, as an empty 20’ weighs about 2.5 tonnes, so no worry about overloading the tractor axles or kingpin. It’s no different from having a part load up against the headboard.

Crack on .

should be ok on the front only weigh about 2.5 ton also better for traction… hth

yes 20 ft position if they will, but always up the front if not, one on the rear can cause all sorts of handling problems, i have only had minor squeaky bottom moments, the far east container men on you tube have spectacular ones.
