2 questions. 1 about sat nav the other about CB radios

Ok looking at getting a sat nav just to guide me in to the area then consult a Map to get fine detail. Which ones do people recommend?

Also do truckers still fit/have CB radios in their Cabs?

Mods if this is in wrong section please feel free to move.

tom tom seems the most popular but cross check with a decent map before you set off

there are still a few about i have one fitted

I use tomtom truck. As for cb I had one but binned it unless you’re travelling in convoy a bit pointless. Facebook and Twitter is the future.

TBH you’re better off consulting a map to get to to the general area and a satnav to guide you in, the satnav is a great replacement for filling your entire cab with a library of A-Zs where a single map book gets you round the whole network of major roads.

Buy yourself a Navigator map, best map around
Get a TomTom if you really need one for town/industrial est work

I’ve been using top range Tom Tom and now I bought myself middle range Navigon and in my view it’s much better. Don’t know if they do truck versions though.

As for CB: I am thinking about buying one, as it’s the best source of information on the road ahead… As long, as you speak Polish, as almost every Polish truck have one. DAF in Poland even mounts antenas as a standard.

So do Daf here, All our Daf’s came with them fitted, I use mine for dipping my diesel tank to see how much fuel I have actually got left when the gauge is reading empty.
