Hi,everyone i start at 06.00 other work and driving and have a 1 hr break at 11.30
from 12.30 to 15.00 driving, 15.00 to 17.00 other work,17.00 start driving arriving
back at base at 18.20.Do i have to take a break at 18.30 for 15 mins or can i just
start my daily rest at 19.00…
You will require a 15 minute break at or before 18:30. It is at least a 15 minute break for any period of 6 hours work for the WTD and not just the first 6 hours work of the shift as so many seem to think.
7.–(1) No mobile worker shall work for more than six hours without a break.
Also note that you must take the break and then return to work even if it is just for 1 minute as the break must interrupt the working time so cannot be taken at the end of the shift. You would be okay to clock off and go home at 18:20 as you haven’t reached 6 hours of work since your last break but you couldn’t do the same at 18:30 when you reach the 6 hour point.
