2 Brits arrested for smuggling

2 Brits arrested in Bari having arrived from Greece with £20million worth of heroin stashed amongst breadsticks. The breadsticks usually manufactured in Italy were
produced by a Greek manufacturer. The vehicle had British plates and the drivers aged 30 and 40 have been detained. The story is in the Daily Telegraph on the net.

Got caught didnt use their LOAF

The drivers, aged 32 and 42, were arrested in the Adriatic port of Bari after travelling with their lorry by ferry from Greece.
The heroin was found during a routine check by customs officers and members of the Guardia di Finanza, or tax police.
They were remanded in custody in a local jail and are expected to face charges of drug trafficking.
Police said the heroin was of an exceptionally high quality and would have had a street value of around £16 million.
It was hidden in between boxes of bread sticks, which were destined for shipment to an address in Lancashire.
Bread sticks are normally associated with Italy but these were produced by a Greek manufacturer.
Their truck, which had British license plates, was seized by customs officers, along with the drugs.
Ferries arrive in Bari from the Greek ports of Igoumenitsa, Patras and Corfu.

I’d say that it was unlikely that two lorry drivers had found the time to put £16 million worth of heroin into these bread sticks when they turned up to load them.

Thanks for posting Harry don’t know how,Do we want to speculate not really seems they might have spoilt their Christmas.

No where near as big as some would think

That’s what 500 euro notes are for, the only people who do not have a “We do not accept 500 euro notes” sign on their front door in mainland Europe are drug dealers. :stuck_out_tongue:

I once heard it said that if you sent two blank emails to yourself, the first one titled “Bush/Blair assassination attempt” and the second one titled “Hello Mum”, that the second one would always arrive about a minute before the first.

I never took the chance on finding out if it was true! :stuck_out_tongue:

didnt take long to unload it

Some quick maths:
On the street £20 buys half a gram. So £40 a gram/£400 for 10g/£4000 for 100g/£40,000 for a kilo.

£20,000,000 divided £40,000 = 500 kg

BUT… At street level it’ll have been cut twice at least, so that 500kg might only actually be about 350kg of clean heroin, cut with glucose to make 500kg of street level crap.
