The figures for the uk have been bs for years all rigged by just concentrating on the prices of a few selected things like groceries that they can find that have reduced in price in the short term (usually after having risen by more than the reduction anyway) and ignoring the bigger cost increases of more things that have increased by much more.Usually circumvented by bs like saying that such items etc etc have risen ‘by more than the rate of inflation’.
The fact is it’s the relationship between wages and prices that matter and for that it’s always been the Germans who’ve been ahead and better off than everyone else.Even though we were sitting on a sea of oil and they weren’t. 
Don’t forget we have two price indexes the Government uses according to which one suits them best at the time!
