Poor old Danny was stressed out when I picked him up at 8 this morning. A standard 4 day course went badly south when the n/s rear spring died on Wednesday thanks to 5 tonne of water.
We went reversing for the only time 2 hours before 2pm test.
Anyway 5 minors and a happy Dan and a happy John. The year has kicked off. At least we have 100% pass rate this year.
Congrats to Danny. It’s lousy if stuff happens during a course. What I find interesting (sad old man that I am!) is that most of the talk, pre loaded vehicle, was about extra fuel costs. Seems to me that there’s other costs - eg springs - that are going to come and get us as well.
A word to anyone considering training: it will never be cheaper than it is now. Trainers are finding their feet with the extra costs and few have made substantial changes to their fees. My prediction is that this will change during this year as the costs become clear.
John, keep up the 100% pass rate! (We’re running very close behind but with many more tests done!).

We have reluctantly put the course fees up by a small amount but to help the customers we have included some in vehicle Periodic CPC as standard on the C+E courses and continued to include free retest training on the Cat C courses and some C+E courses.

So far so good Pete a couple of 1st time C+E passes today on our short courses so 100% is still intact for 2014.
elmet training:
Still 100% first time pass rate at Elmet on laden testing
To be honest Paul that is pretty impressive since November. Good work mate
That’s 9 tests since November. I have had good drivers. “The old saying you can lead a horse to water but fortunately these horses HAVE been drinking”
Long may it continue.
Paul
And it has continued 10 passes from 10 laden tests.
Today’s pass was a rushed one he had assessment on this Wednesday went training yesterday and passed his C test today with just 4 driving faults. May I add he was a natural driver.
My point of this post is always have a assessment drive so you are not paying for training that you don’t need.
Just a quick update still no fail since laden testing, that’s now 13 out of 13. I suppose some of you maybe thinking yeah right but I am being honest.
I will post when I get my first fail, next training course starts on Wednesday then a little time off whilst I go skiing for a few days.
For me it seems a little quiet at the in the training industry at the moment.
Paul I must say 13 on the spin is truly great. Not sure I’ve ever achieved that.
We"re still unbeaten this year with 2 Cat C 1st timers on Friday. Was particularly happy with Steve who only needs a C1 for the ambulance but passed with 1 minor on Cat C.
Proper busy with periodic CPC so less tests than usual this month but hope to finish with full house on Friday
Another update on my laden testing, yes make that 14 out 14 first time passes.
Some companies (not members on here may I add) would be counting the cost of no re tests.
I like to think word of mouth recommendations is the best way forward to grow a profitable reputable business.
Trucks parked up for a week now whilst I go to Andorra on the “piste”
Until the pass rates of the training provider are published by the DSA there is know way to prove the the pass rates.
People may ask the question if I’m telling the truth.
What I do is take a photo of everyone who passes and put it on my twitter and face book pages which are linked to my website (I do ask permission of the successful candidate) some don’t want to be pictured.
