Great so now the level of a truck driver or whatever we are called is that of a ■■■ offender, terrorist or some other low life & to rub salt into the wound after they have raped a child they get rewarded with a free Hgv license & they wonder why the job is so poor, no doubt when the regular drivers find out they are working with a pedo & refuse to help or just blank him they will get disciplined & re-educated.+1. Just when you think this industry is at the bottom, another scrape of the barrel drops us lower.
So the recent recruitment drives are youngsters, women, ethnic minorities and now prisoners. Hopefully the LGBT community will also be approached to boost numbers.
You’ve forgotten gypsy,tramps and thieves, … and any other member of society looked down upon by the press.

All these gimmicks have been tried recently and not so recently, the industries problem is not recruitment, but one of retention of drivers,
There are enough licence and DCPC holders not driving to fill the supposed shortage of drivers, but the industry doesn’t want to spend the money to retain them, instead they want the Government, (or us tax payers) to fund schemes to get even more licence holders, many of whom will leave the industry within a few years. 
Utterly disgraceful .
Having scrimped, begged a bit, borrowed and worked three jobs between me and the misses while raising our children I find these schemes an insult to decent folk who have it in the blood to want to drive as a PROFESSIONAL and not for the free lunch.
Gonna have cost me best part of 4k to get to CE, plus expenses…
yet this ■■■■■ can be pedalled in for sweet FA and potentially be given employment over me coz of some scheme??
And judging by some of the clowns behind the wheel of 44 tons at present, who are there for a wage an ■■■ all else, I can only pray ANY decent hauliers worth their salt will bin this before it gets to their door.
