it should’nt of taken a march out of the door to get this result,the boss should of shown some gratitude for a job well done long before 18 months,sounds like he’s looking after no1,but thats the world we’re living in

amazingly we still had to sleep in them, dont know how we managed
aii and they sent kids under running looms and up chimneys but it does’nt make it right.

You’re not a proper trucker if you don’t climb out of the cab and sleep under the unit when it’s cold.
If it’s frosty, make that under the trailer as you don’t want to go all soft with the heat from the engine keeping you warm for the first couple of hours…we were tougher back in the day blah blah 
i just find it strange that some people are more less saying they wouldnt do the job without a night heater, yes they are nice and mines set to have the truck nice and warm for me getting to work in the morning, i wouldnt for one minute though say i wouldnt do the job if trucks didnt have night heaters, they are a luxury not a necessity

22 yrs of 3-5 nights out a week, now i prefer the comfort of my own bed unless something goes wrong and i get stuck out, theres no money in distance work for an O/D nowadays

It’s true then. Your only 3f tall! you will have to be to sleep in that. How did you cope.

Fatty, did you run the heater in the summer to keep the moving parts going, it will stop working if you did not.
Drove lorries for 40yrs and 25 o them was on distance and never had one yet wie a night heater and the majority were day cabs and you did a make over on the cab so as you could sleep in them. Eddie.
No night heater = no night out …simple realy, or book into B+B wot point scoring is there in freezing in a cab after a days work… if it doesnt get repaired walk , why put up with shise .
My first night heater was fitted in a lorry in 1986, it doesn’t seem that long ago, before that I had two sleeping bags

Does your house have the ‘luxury’ of heating? After all its not really a necessity in a house is it.

I did try but it just didn’t run,turns out it was the internal temperature sensor,£307 later I had a warm night sleep…
Night heater? You mean chest hair?
I am sure there are certain temperatures an employer has a legal duty to supply heat or air con for the summer and winter, i am not sure what they are, factory workers would not be allowed to freeze while they work, or get too hot in the summer, the same for office workers.
For LGV drivers, does this rule apply to us or not?
You can not beat a night heater to dry the clothes that you gave got wet in while tipping in the rain.
