heres the drivers vacancy site  guess what can be put in here

But at £16k for class 2 & FLT it’s not a driver they want it’s a total prat
Had it been £16k for either a FLT or HGV driver that they will then train up for the other licence then it would have been a fair wage, but to expect someone to not only have both licences but also cover two jobs, it’s just taking the zb.

£7.30/hr. I’ve seen worse.

TBH I don’t think this is too bad for 42 hrs per week. I know what your saying about doing two jobs but IMO this kind of job requirement is common in small firms where drivers need to help load and its not too difficult.

I’m afraid that seems pretty reasonable to me for the hours.

Bear in mind also that you can’t physically drive the lorry and the FLT at the same time, and that most fulltime FLT drivers would give their eye teeth to be guaranteed that sort of money (been there, done that… ) and you end up even better off in relative terms…

well i have both a truck (class2) with a moffett attached to the back and i get £8 an hour so i have to help out in the warehouse as well now and again…and sometimesits quicker to load yourself

i get £7.50 for class 2 only and they are putting me on a moffett course soon since i have established a regular client for myself. the client runs all rigid/moffett trucks so the licence would make the job easier. gotta be worth an extra 50p P/H innit? after i pay them back for the course

i earned £17,500ish for the last financial year on class 2 thats on a weekly wage plus guaranteed 2 nights out a week, mind you, i did the gaffer a favour and he bought` two weeks holiday off me! good or bad?

They will be charging the customer more to hire you, once you are trained, which will pay for the course. After all you will be doing two jobs. So, you should be demanding your 50p/h extra straight away, not waiting till the course is paid for. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:
