16'DAF XF night heater

Been given a 16’ DAF XF at my new job but I’m struggling with the night heater, I think.

So I press the button on the centre console, set the fan speed to 1 and all it does is fire up REALLY loudly and then cuts off and that’s it until about 20mins later when it kicks back in again.

Is it supposed to do this or have I set it up wrong?

Is the pump ticking on the fuel tank top ?

Yes it is

And have you pressed the red heat button on the heater control by the bed ? Other than that I don’t know

Is there a discarded sock blocking the air intake ?

No but there’s a fair amount of dust down there

Cleaned off the intake mesh now? Good.

The fan setting on the dash has nowt to do with night heater.

As already said the main night heater control is by the bunk. Two-way switching there (as said red wavy line botton) and dash switch. Ensure thermostat is turned up enough. Don’t touch other buttons until you get a manual, as you could set the heater to come on later on the timer.
