Can work 12 calendar day with out rest and get 12 shift for 15 hours each.
Really? Oh please do explain - I hope it involves putting lots of passenger seats in your vehicle and getting a PSV operators licence
Yes,examply.Week one you work from Monday ,Tuesday,Wednesday from 00.00 till 1500 and Thursday ,Friday Saturday you work same from 0000 till 1500 but just have 3 hours break every day .Full legally Now from Saturday 1500 till Sunday 15 driver taked 24 hours weekly rest and Sun,Mon,Tue he do 1500 till 0600 and Wed,Thu ,Fri same with splitted rest…So legally 12 working shift for 15 hours each.Yes must keep driving hours under limits and have full weekly rest before and after and taked compensation in next 3 week.
Sorry mate but you’ve slipped up there, originally you said you can work 12 calendar days without rest, in your example you are working 12 days but you’re also having a 24 hour rest
If you’d just said that you can work 12 consecutive days doing 15 hours each shift you’d have been spot on
Well actually if you had another 24 hour rest on the second Saturday (06:00 Saturday to 06:00 Sunday) you could do another 15 hour shift on Sunday before starting a 45 hour weekly rest period, so that’s 13 consecutive days work

But you’ve had a weekly rest between the first 6 and next 6
You said 12 without a rest - which you CANNOT do. A coach driver can but HGV cant

if you have split daily rest periods you can work 15 hour shifts every day but otherwise you’re restricted to three reduced daily rest periods (over 13 hour shifts) between weekly rest periods.
Though to be honest, in 2015 I’ve no idea why anyone would want to work 15 hour shifts every day
I might do 3x15 hour shifts sunday, monday, tuesday - and that’s my 45 hour week done. Only 3 commutes instead of 5 or 6. Only three 45 minute meal breaks deducted instead of 5 or 6 of them.
Since even a planned 15 hour shift can’t include more than 10 hours actual driving - you might find yourself having enough POA in one place to tip the seat back for a couple of hours as well. This isn’t a bad thing, especially on lates or nights. On days, there’s gonna be too much commution around you whilst you wait on POA to do anything bar “read a newspaper” - the official thing you are supposed to be able to do on POA.
It’s essential to be paid by the hour here of course.
There’s a movement among some operators to get people on a low rate to work the 15 hour shifts, Eg. start someone on day rate - then have them finish at what should be either night rate or even weekend rate, but will still be paid at day rate… a 17:45 start at Wincanton used to be notorious for this on a friday night… Book off at 08:45 saturday morning, and get paid right-through “friday day rate” for it all. F— that.
Then there’s the midweek dodge of getting someone due to finish around 6pm to work until midnight… All on day rate.
F— that too.
When it works in your favour is starting Sunday evening, and being paid a right-through sunday rate that finishes as late as 14:50 on monday afternoon.
burnley-si:
you can do 7 20’s if you like just dont get pulled
I thought it was 7 x 23 1/4 allowing for lunch
lol
15hrs you ■■■■■■■ lol just finished a 56hr one hit from india
What kept you ? If you can’t do that in a 48 hr straight shift you need to hand in your keys . In 56 you should be half way back with your second load .
Why would anyone want to do 3x 15 hr shifts never mind asking about working as many 15 hr shifts as he or she wants over a week
12hr shift is as much as I ever wanted before retiring
It’s no good putting people down for the hours they work. I do 2 or 3 reduced rests a week but I pull so much POA that I end up sleeping more during working hours than I do at home. Then on a weekend I can enjoy spending the £640 - £680 that I’ve ‘earned’ [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

This week did 3 x 15’s. I get paid from start to finish. Day one driving time was 8 hours total. The rest was mixture of breaks and poa. Included a two hours kip undisturbed. Day two was 6.75 actual driving. More sleep, book reading and singing badly to iPod. Day three was a bit harder 9 hours 53 mins actual driving. Finished 10.30pm Thursday. Next shift Monday 7am. Money in the bank. Suits me
