New height detectors are to be instaled at Greenford London. This is the entrance to Palletline.
Can the drivers receive penalty points and a fine if go under the bridge marked up as 15’3 but if go slow you can get under with a 15’9
It is marked as a deterent.
The other way in is via a housing estate where they object to trucks and park their cars awkwardky to make life harder for the night drivers.
Is it only an offence if you hit the bridge?

No, it’s an offence to go under a bridge if your vehicle exceeds the height on the traffic sign.
You could get a TS50 for failing to comply with a road sign or the generic ‘careless driving’.
How many times has this bridge been hit?
Hiyaa it dosn’t matter if the bridge is 20 feet high if its marked 15ft3 thats the legal height and you
can be nicked for going under it. there,s a bridge in Manchester that looks 16ft high
half way under you come to a arch bridge that about 13ft 9. the bridge is marked at the lower hight
John
You dont have to go through a housing estate to get to palletways if you are avoiding the bridge, off the a40 at the 312 then Right at the 1st roundabout and straight over the 2nd and then right at the lights onto greenford and you then come to the lights where the “low” bridge is
theres a bridge near grantham, thats got all these sensors and cameras on it , i went under it with my horse box , and had a roof vent open, not hit it, just a tad over the sensor, and received a fine,
Many thanks for the replies.
