Just another myth to add to all the others about vehicle checks.
I repeat: How and when you do it is up to you,not some VOSA bloke.
There is no written rule saying you have to do a 15 minute check, but vosa like to see a small amount of other work on your card before you set off, which would indicate to them that you have checked the vehicle before driving it.

When you’ve been stopped as many times as i have you find out theres vosa men and theres vosa men.some are great and some are unreal.
I’m a london bus driver.
We only get 10 mins to sign on and check the bus=not long enough.

after doing some of the cpc coarse.we was told that you have to do 15 mins of checks,with digi card in,or tacho.without moving vehicle.sometimes leave before 15 mins.doe’s anyone know,how strict are vosa on this?
did you ask him to show it you in writing?
i had a qualified DCPC trainer tell me the same, but, when i got my phone out to record him saying it, he refused to say it again 
dunno how long the check takes on the VOSA vid…
but it takes longer if you dont have a regular truck n trailer

one place on i work at on agency expect 15 minutes unit then 15 minutes trailer!

Grab coffee and chin wag.
out to truck as i approch looking for any visul defects or leaks
card in manual entry for last 20 mins other work…
