Lichfield Rd, near Rushall.
What’s the deal? I know trucks quite a bit higher than 14’ go under it - City Link trunkers do for a start…
Stories? What’s the highest to go under there??

It is an arched bridge and the 14’ only reaches as far as the outer parts. Although i would never recomend contravening compulsory height restrictions (and it is of course illegal) i have got to admit i did go through there a couple of times with high cube containers on at 14’6". (But don’t tell anyone)
we used to go under it with 14’6 boxes most weeks with no problems(but dont tell anyone)
I’m down there regularly with a 14’8 trailer - always take the divertion tho…
It used to be a 14 foot bridge, but about 4 years ago the road was lowered so the height is now just short of 16 foot although the signs aint been changed so if pulled by plod in anything above 14 foot you could still get done. I’m was on nights and have been under that bridge regularly with a 15 footer.
It used to be 14" until one night in 1991 when I went through with a car transporter…
the diversion ain`t so bad apart from the few speed cameras

■■■■ - I didn’t want to hear that - soooo tempted t go that way…
I used to use that route regularly, however nowadays I use the diversion route around Aldridge, even though I’m only 13ft (not me personally, but my truck)
The reason being the roadworks around Walsall are a complete pain, and avoiding the area can be alot quicker.
The diversion will being you out with a choice of Junction 9 or Junction 7 of the M6.
Well I can confirm that a 14’10" trailer does indeed go under that bridge.
The bridge used to be marked higher than 14 but for some reason the signs were changed but I didn
t see any work going on at the time to warrant it I think its because the road is busy and not ideal for trucks 2b in the middle of the road
