This particular company advertise this job a couple of times a year, you have to ask yourself why?.
ECM are advertising for a shift driver for Southampton if anyone interested. On their website.
I presume it does inc everything
But it works out a month you do 3 days in pay week other month 4 days so 400 3 day weeks 500 4 day weeks guaranteed 120 a day if you do 9 hours with holidays at 25 plus bank holidays 5 months a year job.
So lots of family and life time
A bit of overtime im sure you could earn more bit i also dont want to tramp 5 days a week anymore
As id rather see my kids grow up money isnt be all and end all
Bit i do take your point i could earn more on general haulage but i will be working for it also
Were i live average wage for class 1 is 8.50 an hour and they think thats big money.
I know its a marmite job love it or hate it
Im mot a fan of heights but their isnt many companies near me doing 4 on 4 off either.
Im prepared to try it as it cant be that bad and i dontind a bit of graft o think transporters is more about loading and unloading rather than the driving.
I herd on the grapevine that ecm have taken a pay cut on kia contract.

They have been pushing that job for weeks on various sites…I wonder why?.
Been involved with Igloo before…what a bunch of ****, Wrong pay, no pay and took months to try and get it sorted. Ended up with the legal action route before
anyone would do anything. For what its worth my advice would be avoid like the plague

If you think it’s not about the driving, think again!
Super low trailers with see-saw point in the middle. No rear crashbar only a new car. Variable heights.
Cambered junctions are a challenge.
And the length…
