“Drivers’ love the MAN Tiptronic gearbox…”
…Um, no they don’t.

They actually wanted the manual 'box…

I bet they made out of the bits that fell off all the others.

Amen, best manual box I’ve ever used.

Tiptronic is alright, better than the dafs just a bit meh. Funny coz I think they’re the same as tronic box.

MAN were ahead of the curve with that comfort shift button, one of the finest lorryist devices ever. Auto without the smeg.

To it’s credit I never got stuck on our tip. I always switched to manual and never used diff locks getting back to the 'dozer. I heard a few “you’ll get stuck going back that far with an auto” comments on the cb (some were ruder) but it never let me down.
On the road it was awful, I never understood why it often made the gearchanges it did. Reading the report though, why do managers etc make up stuff like “the drivers really like them”? The real reason is “contract leased, fleet spec and auto 'box is cheap.”
I will agree that MAN people are helpful.
