Hi Gareth
your vids are great mate ,hope everything went well with your test,i’ve been to see CTTS and i think i might do my training with them and the reason being is i think they have more up to date trucks
Thanks - I’m well chuffed, will start my celebratory drinking soon.
On a note of thanks I’d like to thank everyone on the forum for their support since I joined. It’s been really welcoming and very much appreciated, so thank you all very much.
So chuffed for you mate, well done, you deserve it. Can’t wait for your C+E diary and I wish you the best in getting some C work in the next few weeks.
Well done mate. If you can keep a clear head, C&E will be a doddle. I had the pressure of two examiners on my test. But what happened to your oppo Colin? How did he get on?
Ah, well, I’m afraid Colin fluffed the reverse. He knew it - hit the barrier - then did the drive anyway and got 9 minors and serious or dangerous for something else, I forget what, he was gutted. I’ll be honest, I was gutted for him. He’s talking about doing a retest when he gets home and still going for C+E in the future.
Well done Gareth, really pleased for you and good luck with finding some driving work.
Let us know how you get on.
I have passed my medical this morning so all the paperwork went in the post and hoping to get my licence back in the next 10 days so I can start my training on the 27th September.
Nice one guys and thanks again for all the support.
I’m booked in for CAT C+E starting 23rd September.
In the meantime I’ve told my agency that I’m available for CAT C work now. I also plan on signing up to another agency on Monday. The idea being to gain some experience prior to C+E, but hopefully no bad habits.
Just a very minor point; Sam mentioned that it is fine to get out and check the reverse - correct. He also said this would mean a minor mark - incorrect. You would get a minor mark for shunting forward at any point in the exercise but not for stopping short and then moving back. Just thought this might help someone else down the line.

Anyway Gareth, congratulations. Pete
My bad Peter, I knew it was a minor for something.
