Dont know if any one can help but we recently bought a 08 plate Scania 420 opticruise tractor unit, this is the 1st auto we have and quite frankly it is gutless in comparison to the manuals. The truck is an ex focus group truck and wondered if anyone had heard of them being put on “economy” mode as the kick done doesnt work and neither does hill mode.
I would get it into Scania, they will be able to tell you what has been locked down, when i bought mine, i had the clutch save turned off, as well as the night heater, which was locked off, due to the ADR spec of the vehicle.
A lot of people try to drive the opticruise like a manual and rev the nuts out of them, the best is to keep it in the green on the rev counter and it will do what you need it to do and be more economical.

Maybe I missed a post of yours and if I did my apologises, but if not why didn’t you ask folks thoughts on them before you brought one you’ve now brought one and asking our thought on them, isn’t that like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted
My thoughts,I use them on a regular basis and there ok ,pull o.k,but then I’m only pulling 30/40 cages of food

Sorry just half inching your thread for a second , I drive a Fuel Tanker and my night heater works just fine , you do have to turn a key thats mounted in the dash before hand that im guessing isolates some parts of the truck , but it works never the less ?
Sounds like you Scania is in fleet mode. We had some a few years come up from another depot, they were the same, flat as a ■■■■, no kick down and no manual option. Called into the local Scania for a service and a quick couple of button presses on the laptop and it was a completely different truck.

same as us we’ve had a few with drivers complaining different things like kickdown & hillmode/powermode doesn’t work , its all there , just need a man with laptop to open the right bits.
Must admit , the world goes into slow motion at junctions & roundabouts but as posted before ,drive it sensible & not have yer foot flat to the floor & you’ll be up to speed soon enough, at least it a 420, i had a full auto experience on one of our 360 8 wheelers now that was depressing
