Question for manual gearbox drivers

The only time I knock it into neutral is if if on a gentle slope being in 16th drops me below the limiter but being in neutral keeps me on it or slightly over. ‘My’ truck was spec’d with extra air tanks so I never get low on air.
Going down steep hills I use the gears and exhaust brake as much as possible to keep the over speed sensible.
I was taught when doing my training years ago never to coast so imagine my disgust when I first drove a truck with an auto that went into neutral going down hill [emoji33]
