As a Newcastle fan, my first thought was ‘Excellent choice’ 
This guy went a long way to help the Allies win the war (Turing not Shearer 
) by breaking the German Enigma code, saving many many lives, and was treated abysmally after the war, only for being gay.
This is one of the parts of history the UK should be ashamed about, not recent stuff highlighted because of political ■■■■ correctness.
