Anniversary coming up next week. The cover-up continues.

Thankyou for linking that Cav, a compelling disturbing infuriating saddening read but pride and admiration for the 1500 decent souls who did their duty and tried in vain to protect and defend Glorious from the German cruisers.
A full inquiry should be opened and the truth told before the decendents, as so often is the case, go to their own deaths still not knowing the real truth of their forebear’s actions.

We or rather our elites and betters have a national aptitude for not only destroying the lives and memories of innocent people, but even worse cruelly leave their wholly innocent loved ones with their own lives shattered, often shortening their lifespan and passing on themeselves without ever finding out their spouses/forebears were not only innocent but possible heroes that should have been correctly honoured.

Agreed, the smugness of officialdom in this 50 minute documentary from 1997, which features accounts from survivors and clear evidence of when the cover up began, makes the blood boil. No mention at that time about Churchill’s grubby involvement.

It’s similar to the losses at Jutland and the Hood. They knew our ships were designed with inferior deck armour then they blamed the results on crews leaving fire doors jammed open to make ammo handling faster.Yeah right.

Oh and not forgetting the Arctic convoys and the example of PQ17 etc instead of shipping supplies directly from the US to Vladivostock via Alsaka and Aleutians and Trans Siberia railway.
It was much better to let them run the gauntlet across the Atlantic and then if they got here from here to Murmansk. :unamused:
Churchill wasn’t as bright as he is made out to be.

Churchill’s grubby involvement.

Chamberlain the man who bought us the time to fix the results of Churchill’s ‘‘Ten Year Rule’’ by at least over seeing the manufacture of the Spitfire and King George V class battleships.
That obviously wasn’t Churchill’s account of history.
