Bit of a sore point really… I work for a great guy… nice motor and its my own and all that but…
Was runnin late one day this week … wednesday major hold up on M6… had to be in a certain place for 10.30pm couldnt make it till 10.45 with brake so rang the gaffer…
errr well just keep goin with head down cheers dave…
well after a …errr chat and against anything i`ve done for many years I decided to go for it just to keep the gaffer happy…
I hate to run over my time for obvious reasons…
how far far would you go for your gaffer■■?
I hate to admit doing this and it was a 1 off

I think that, if it was at the end of your day, you can get away with a short 15 min drive over your time, to make a delivery and park up. If you are caught in an unforseeable delay. You need to write a brief explanation on the back of your chart and sign it.
The unforseeable bit is important. If for eg, you were caught in the usual M6 cluster[zb] at say ‘the waterjump’, that would not be a reasonable excuse as it happens every day and is therefore foreseeable.
