Evening all, michel, talk about temptation, a TG300 8x8…I wonder if they would accept a Scania LB76 in exchange■■? I would forsake a new John Deere, that I need to own that!!! I shall have the image of that lorry on my mind as I work tommorow. What temptation…

Cheerio for now.

Moderators! The forum has gone bigger than the telly again. Could it be anything to do with the TG being wider than 2.5m?

Last Saturday for the first “Route des Vacances” at the starting point.

Willeme LD 610 wine tanker from 1955.

Hello michel, is that Paul Hurleys “Pinardier” (lucky man)!!

Cheers. ?

No it belongs to my son with its trailer.

Evening all, michel, you, and your son are very lucky people!!! What a magnificent outfit, enjoy it all you can!

Cheerio for now.

Willeme K15.8 cylinder engine Onatra company.

An other as tanker subcontract to the famous Shell company.
Notice that the cab is not the original one, but built by a craftsman.

An other Onatra from the other company named Onater…

Now there is an interesting connection…Onatra, and the “public works” (Traveaux Publics), specialists Onater. Now this is all “old” history, but was later to come back, and play a majorr part in the future of Tpts Onatra.

First you had the company created by the Marseille based Wine Importer Ambrose Arcostanzo in the `30s.

Sorry, cannot cope with the 72in TV screen, that seems to have taken over this thread!!! Long day on Baling Hay, just cannot cope with this electronic thing…its an interesting story, (and takes some recall), will leave it untill the screen returns to normal…Cheery bye!

A big load but nothing to stop this tractor 8 cylinders from Onater.

How to open the bonnet…

Evening Gentlemen, now, is that not a “proper” Heavy Haulage outfit… She looks like fleet number 40.9, A PRP, (Perez et Raimond), licence built Willeme TG250 tonne, 8x8, Clark Triple reduction axles, ■■■■■■■ KT 450 6 Cylinder, (others in Jacques fleet the fleet had Detroit V 12s, and one was re-engined with a Mercedes V 10), with one of Mayer`s TG150, 150 tonners pushing, (V12 Detroit 390 hp /Clark auto, but some where converted to Fuller RTO 12513s), with Willeme triple reduction axles.

Tpts Mayer were a large Willeme TG user, most were coupled to Nicolas 9/14/24 axle sets, and worked with either Berliet TBO, or Willeme 150 pushers, but there were 5th wheel variants also, fleet number 54.9, ran as a 5th wheel tractor, powered by Mercedes V12, with a design weight, (often exceeded) of 200 tonnes.

Truly, can anyone suggest a more better balanced design than the Willeme TG serie for Heavy Haulage.

I shall drink a toast to Louis Willemes design ethos, for perhaps they were the greatest Heavy Hitters of all time.

Cheerio for now.](ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs)

AEC engines on Willeme were AV 691 and AV 760 .The Willeme originals were 6 and also 8 cylinders on the early 50/60th particurlarly on heavy models.

The choice between English or French motor…

A big one preserved :
