Who will you vote for and why?

I’ll be voting Labour.

9 years of cuts have destroyed public services. People may hate Corbyn but if people had listened to him before we swanned off to Iraq and Afghanistan then thousands of our soldiers wouldn’t be lying in their graves right now.

I’m totally fed up of the rich getting richer while the workers are a pay day away from being on the street. Johnson doesn’t give a flying f*ck about the likes of us.

Say what you like but look at Corbyn over the last 30 years and he’s the only one who stook to his principles. All this rubbish about him cozying up to the IRA, if it wasn’t people like him talking to people rather than taking them on with force then the IRA could still be causing chaos now.

Whilst despite the usual promises, it is really about Brexit because that determines our future. No matter what the promises from any of the parties, staying in the EU decides our future from outside the UK and once in, I know we can never vote it out again. So the choice for me is continuing as we are in a failing gig economy, or a return to the failed days of the 70s under Labour. In other words, the EU with its mass-economic immigration and competition, or the policies of hard-core socialism. :frowning:

That’s why I like Farage, who even if he’s wrong supports a kind of political revolution in which we have the chance to remove those politicians who have misled and lied to us over the years to make politics something that feathers a minority of nests. Whoever we vote in it will echo the famous saying of, ‘It doesn’t matter who you vote for, nothing changes.’

Or the,I think Disraeli quote,“power rarely resides where we believe it resides” The whole things a giant chimera,a futile delusion. The world and it’s treasures belong to the gilded elite, always have, always will. They’ll toss us a scrap now and again to keep the lie intact, but surely your starting to see that the gloves are off and the ptb are getting desperate and anxious at the ever increasing rate of people waking up to the extent of their deceptions?

Very much agree. Also that people are getting desperate, but if you take away the power to change things by the democratic vote, what’s left? The leaders are falling over themselves to re-package old ideas and many politicians themselves are ‘career politicians’ with no experience outside politics. Everyone is hoping to vote for something new, but we all know nothing is going to change and we’re like lemmings all marching off the cliff together.

I probably won’t get the chance to vote this time however for me there is only one clear choice and that is Boris. Never been big on politics or should I say politicians.
Generally a bunch of lying numpties full of false promises. The peoples vote in 2016 was to leave the EU and that should be honoured otherwise democracy ceases to exist.
The only man that supports that is Boris and personally I quite like him although as with most politicians I am not sure if can he be trusted.

Anyone that votes for Corbyn needs their head examining and don’t mention the Lib Dems who are totally ignoring the Brexit votes to suit their own agenda. As for SNP they have an obsessive leader that wants to ignore two previous votes because she wants independance and no Brexit. A decent leader that is ruined by ignoring her own people and the hatred of westminster.

Boris will win anyway I reckon.

Plaid Cymru because my MP is young, 26, we need many more young in parliament, a good MP and being in the 11th most marginal seat in the country with a majority of only 104 for first time my vote actually means something and he needs all the votes he can get.

Plus they use a nice shade of green

My rosette is a daffodil yellow. Our founder, the 3rd Earl of Harrpw, is now deceased, but his influence permeates ALL parties.

I won’t be voting for any of them, though i will put a terse message about betrayal on the voting slip, a message which applies to all three cheeks of the same arse.

I would have voted for BP, but Farage once again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, by denying anyone in a current tory constituency a vote for someone who believes in honouring the wishes of the majority of the electorate as per the referendum to leave , if you can remember back that far :unamused:

I expect Labour to betray the country, ever since Blair it’s been a party against the working class of the country, i also expect the Liberal Democrats to betray the country and once again we’re not disappointed.
I know, not just expect, that the tory party will betray us, they’ve been doing so ever since Heath lied through his teeth to take us into the Common Market.
It’s the fake conservative party which galls the most, so if forced to vote at gunpoint for a party, the tories would be the very last choice.

Some good may come of what’s happened, maybe a true patriotic party will rise from the ashes, no doubt Farage will be charged with destroying it just as hid did the BNP and UKIP, but finally Farage is exposed as being every bit as untrustworthy as the rest.

In some ways i’m glad its come to this, i’m completely ignoring this election, whatever lies they spin won’t make any odds to me because i refuse completely to watch read or listen to anything from the mainstream media or press, but after spoiling my ballot this time it will be very last time i vote, which has proved from day one (when i voted NO to the common market) to be a complete and utter waste of time and effort because you end up with the same self serving parasites only change noticeable being a different coloured rosette, so do your worst you devious judas mp’s and then bugger off and spend your thirty pieces of silver.

Politics is over for me come the new year of our Lord 2020.

Whoever wins this sham we just know that the EU and its puppets among the Brit establishment will claim the result as a Mandate for BRINO to Revoke.Just as was always intended and just like 2017.

Completely agree. I live in a not too bad area. We regularly have people knocking on doors trying to sell knock off stuff from the back of old white transit vans. Meanwhile, down the side of the house is a small unnamed street that the pushers use at night. I watch TV and see the hype of families preparing for Christmas and urged to buy stuff like there’s no tomorrow and everyone in the adverts is jumping for joy, but around me I see only a minimum wage and near poverty.

For me the change came when Blair abandoned the working class with his ‘New Labour’ and Labour became just another party with self-seeking MPs. There’s a lot going on; we’ve got an election, Christmas is coming and the end of another year … I often get accused of negativity, but honestly, all I see around me are miserable faces as though people have lost all hope and are resigned to whatever comes next. I expect the Conservatives to win, which simply means more of the same. The same gig economy, the same lies about Brexit; the same hype about how well the economy is doing … I wish I could take Boris around my area for a day and show him the reality of what life really looks like under his government.

Aye all true but do you know what really depresses me,? The fact that intelligent people, including several on this forum, still refuse to disoblige themselves of the notion that the very term ademocracy -is in itself some high watermark of a political ideology,or that politicians are actually leaders as opposed to factory farmed, hot housed, replicants, yet still they invest in the pavlovian 4 yearly general selection expecting a moses like deliverance scenario. The records of the last prime ministers attest to the real ,albeit covert agendas they’re put in place to engineer.
I can’t see anything that has given the sons and daughters of Albion anything resembling Atlees NHS and social security projects tbh.I see the nations silver and and gold sold off,ill advised military adventures, concretation of rural areas, mass population expansion…etc.why are we voting for them and not liquidating them?

LewRockwell.com is a superb website that I think warrants a good butchers for a general overview of world events.I encountered the writings of one Caitlin Johnstone here and she never fails to get to the core of things.Theres many more I’m discovering.Priceless.

I think it will get a lot worse before it gets better, but for those that remember the Thatcher years; mass civil disobedience is the only way that politicians will begin to wake up. When hundreds of thousands finally come out into the streets and want to topple the government only then will things change. Every four years we get a choice based on lies and deceit. We get what we’re given and it’s only till we reach rock bottom and look like Romania does now that things will change.

Are you joking? Don’t you remember Labour were in power from mid 90’s to 2015?. Nick Griffin and Ann Cryer a Labour MP for Keighley were the first to publicly talk about this scandal in 2003 and she was branded a racist by her own party. If you’ve ever been to Keighley then you’ll know that she has a better idea of what goes on in her own town than what the outsiders think. Is it any coincidence that most of the grooming scandals were in Labour held wards where parents went for help to the local councillor and were hushed up for fear of stoking trouble and losing the muslim vote which Labour rely on.

Corbyn had absolutely nothing to do with the peace process in Northern Ireland he’s mates with Adams because Adam’s wanted to bring down the UK government. I’ll believe Corbyn was involved in the peace process when you show me a record of his meetings with Loyalist paramilitaries, to negotiate peace you have to talk to both sides not one. In the same vein show me his meetings with the Israeli government as again you need to talk to both sides to get a peaceful outcome.

In their manifesto I like their idea to save fuel on journeys…“VEHICLES will be fitted with bungy ropes in order to save fuel on the return journey.”

New Labour were actually in power until 2010.

And what’s the story here? Labour MP blows whistle on grooming gangs, as she should?

And do you want to know the real coincidence? It’s that poor areas tend to vote Labour, and poor areas also tend to have more poor, institutionalised children.

Incidentally, this problem is hardly confined to any particular area, or race. Remember “Bummer” Barry Bennell? He’s a white man, who had apparently raped most boy footballers he came into contact with, and the (white) powers that be generally brushed it all under the carpet. What about Savile even? He used to go around the hospital wards fiddling the kids - they even gave him the keys, whilst nurses (meaning well) told children to pretend to be asleep to avoid his attention.

Unless someone happens to have some sort of personal connection to where so-called Muslim grooming gangs have been operating, then focussing specifically on these cases to the exclusion of all others (many of which are considerably more serious, and involve considerably more corruption) ends up seeming like they just have a far-right axe to grind, rather than a serious concern for abused children.

Not exactly. But to say it is considered as ‘far right’.The country gets the government it deserves.
