Traction

Any one on here on for Fowler Welch? a mate of mine keeps showing the mpg he’s getting working for them and its 3mpg better than I’m getting.

That could just be down to driving style.

Or could be down to the way the engine is set up. Setting the timing correctly makes a huge difference with fuel usage.

The unit you have will make a huge difference as well. My new Actros 1845 is returning 12mpg, while my colleagues MAN doing the same work is only getting 9mpg. Big difference!

I sub to firms covering holiday/sick/busy periods, and always get any unit that is returning 8mpg with its normal driver, to above 10 just through driving style, when they ask me how I jus say it’s more a case of why, cos I’m still looking for my ideal job but in the meantime want them to make me their first choice instead of an agency. On the above example I used 130 ltrs less a week than the usual driver covering 2-2500 km

Both the same truck, his on reefer for FW I pull a flat with moffet.
