This is BH Transport (or was it BH Freight?) of Clitheroe - I mainly remember them loading out of Walkersteel at Blackburn, but I can’t recall what other work they did

Autolifts built cabs for Atkinson dumpers and for some export models too:

The green ERF belonged to Excelsior Plastics in Hereford. They had a factory in Holland IIRC - and also ran a 2800 Daf with a tilt trailer.
I don’t remember this flat roof Erf, but I do recall a high roof B series.

B&H Transport of Barrow near Whalley aka “the twins”, largely because they are twins Brian and Eric, there was also a filling station and small garage. They retired and sold the yard for housing a decade or more ago.

I’m not saying that they didn’t work fow Walkers but it was certainly not their main work. For many years they worked for Atkinsons of Clitheroe who made gritter bodies, snow ploughs, muck spreaders and other agricultural equipment. After Atkinson was bought by Econ of Ripon production gradually moved to Yorkshire and eventually Clitheroe shut leaving the twins to find other work, they kept themselves busy mainly on paper out of Darwen for SCA. They never had a foreign badged vehicle ending up with ERF ECT’s with ■■■■■■■ M11.

One for the tipper boys. I posted a similar article about one of these that Don Bush operated on page 134.

Interesting article about the two GCE multidrives , i believe they did go on to buy another identical Freg model , however i can’t recall ever seeing more than 3 mulidrives in their fleet ,i haven’t seen any GCE tippers around for a good while now though …

Interesting insight into “the twins” business, thanks for posting.

Here’s a shot of one of their later ERF’s.
