Only just seen this thread Riggers. I tend not to look around TN like I once did as time is short with work and a young daughter fast growing up.

Glad the op was a success and you’ll be around for years to come. You take it easy good buddy.

Thanks all , the first week was easy and lulled me into a false sense of well being . The powerful painkillers wore off then and it has been a bit rough since then . Apparently they had to remove some of the chest wall round the tumour and it don’t half smart , I only sleep in short bursts before the pain wakes me , so I doze in the chair a lot (gets me out of the housework ) , but hey ho at least I’m here to have a moan. The only downside is the aftercare , there isn’t any , district nurse came to take stitches out but apart from that , zilch . It’s taken 3 weeks to get a. doctor’s appointment and he’s going to get his ear bent big time about it . The wife’s put the insurance policy away again and cancelled the new coat for the funeral so I’m in with a fighting chance . Dave

So good to hear from you. Glad to read your great sense of humour hasn’t departed you. So, British healthcare hasn’t improved much since I left the island. At least your darling at home is looking after you.

Sorry to learn of your suffering. Sleep deprivation doesn’t help the mood. Wishing you continued recovery back to good health. Thanks again for posting.
Regards
Johnny

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling comfortable yet. And disappointed to hear that the poor old NHS cannot quite do all we would like of it. We all know that needs addressing…

But the big positive I get from your post is that one of your most valuable assets is still intact. Your sense of humour. Invaluable at times like this. Best wishes to you and your, probably, long suffering wife!

Positive outlook, good sense of humour, self medication at it’s best Rigsby, wishing you all haste to a speedy recovery.
Oily

All the best Dave for a speedy, if painful recovery, but you’ll get there in the end Mate, well you will if us lads on TN have owt to do with it ! our ranks are being depleted quickly enough without you “chucking the towel in” !! Kind regards Dennis.

Hi, Dave, Great to hear you are on the mend , so take it easy nice and slow just like an old Gardener , Cheers Barry

Great to hear that you’re ready to bollock your doctor Dave, you must be feeling better.

Rigsby / Dave

Some positive’s in your last post there, I guess the pain thing is only going to recede with every passing day ! Hoping your good lady get’s over the dismay of not having that new coat yet…lol

You keep up with the good work of getting yourself better / fit again, and as others have stated here …don’t forget were all right behind you…just like a trailer Behind a 240 8 LXB GUY BIG J

Best Regards,
E.W.

Aye Dave, but not the other Gardner trait, leaking fluids all over the place !!!

Just to wind this thread up , saw the specialist on the 19th and he is very pleased , " good clean operation " were his words .No sign of any spread ,so no chemo required at all . Recovery will be anything up to 9 months , so I should be good to go by summer . I’d sooner be lucky than rich and I count myself extremely lucky , bits missing but still here . Thanks everyone for your good wishes and kind words . Dave

Good man! See, you’re as long lasting as those Gardners after all mate
But in all honesty, cracking news that is mate, hope you’ll be back to your good old self in no time.

Cheers, Patrick

Rigsby / Dave,

What positive Great news, so pleased for you.

Onwards & upwards.

Best wishes & kind regards.
