To know his story, who was he, what was his life....looks like he either lived or worked in Auxerre in the war years, blacked out lights, gas driven motor....we'll never know I guess..

What on Earth was initially this one? Certainly an ex-army truck, but wherefrom?

At least do we also know his truck was a charcoal gas powered Renault.

I guess the pictures were taken close to Aubenas, in Ardèche, and the Actros's registration looks fake to me. Strange that its crane wasn't removed to be sold.

That Scanny would have made a nice project... the Berliet looks like the one I've snapped years ago in Castets, posted it on here too, John made a comment about a proper restaurant near the coast IIRC...

And that Merc belongs there, according to some...

Last pic, it says "Dutchmen" on the bumper, it's easy to imagine they've crossed borders in that Diamond...
It's fitted with a regional registration too, before the national registration came out.

Here's another Fordson which will be put for auction near Tours on Sept 29th. Its said it's powered with a 4-cyl petrol engine, and is RHD; possibly imported from Britain?

Yes,it is a Ford Anglia, model no. 105E.IIRC,it was Ford's first over square engine and OHV too.
