In Star Wars the Galactic Empire was founded upon the collapse of the Old Republic, essentailly a TRADE AGREEMENT, slowly morphing into a Totalitarian DICTATORSHIP over time by corrupt officials.Sound like any another UNION you might have heard of?
This sort of stuff is really getting to down to the bare bones of it all.
The Galactic Republic ( no surprise was actually another Federal government system like the Star Trek example ) and no surprise were supposedly the good guys.Taken over by the supposed ‘evil empire’ ( in reality an opposing competing Federation like the Soviet Union ).

Notice there’s no place in all this for a Confederation of Sovereign planets in which all the independent planetry governments have the right of opt out,substitution and VETO and are the supreme legislature over the senate which in that case is rightly just a talking shop where all or some of the planets can agree or have the right to agree to disagree and to all do their own thing.
The US Federal system having not only hijacked the original US constitution of a Confederation of Sovereign States but also imposing its already failed obsolete undemocratic tyrannical Roman government type ideology on Europe and across the Universe if it gets the chance.
All of which explains the real reason why we can’t have the AfD’s idea of a Confederal Europe and why Europe was forced into going down the inevitable road of a Federal USE monster.Because the US government is terrified that a Confederal Europe would raise the inconvenient question among its own people why not us too in making the states the supreme legislature.As opposed to the senate and president which should be nothing more than a talking shop and its chairman.

On that note it seems clear that the whole Star Trek and Star Wars thing were both just part of a big US government driven indoctrination exercise aimed at young people.To provide unarguable credibility to the Federal government system and remove dissent against it.Hence so called ‘remainers’ running around trying to stop our secession from the EU.IE indoctrinated Federalist fools to who it’s all about maintaining and imposing their preferred type of government on Europe and hiding that under the banner of a ‘wish to be part of Europe’.When a Confederal Europe,in which the State legislature and its independent vote is the supreme legislature,would be more relevant and more democratic in that aim but obviously a threat to the US government system.
