Rates 2018

Driver Pete:
Hello gentlemen,
I’m new to the forum and I’m gathering the info to calculate all pros and cons to become an owner operator.
When it comes to rates I know that each one of you protects its own business and does not want to share its clients with anybody else. However, rather than sharing the client names I would like to talk about the rates in general…
Soo… Maritime offers £1.35 pm for its subcontractors but I know for fact that they get anything between £1.55-£2.10 pm. Amazon offers (international freight) £2.80 pm. I’m talking about rates in the Tilbury docks area.
What are the rates you come across around the country? Haulage exchange does anyone uses it? What are the rates on it and do you have to bid on them or is it given by the company that needs the haulage service?

HI. And as a newcomer to TNUK, Welcome.
A few questions so those with more knowledge than me can give you some answers:
How much and what experience of Hire and Reward Transport do you have?
How much business experience do you have?
Are you expecting to run just a unit or a trailer too?
Does the Amazon rate you`ve quoted apply to all miles or loaded only? Who pays ferries? Guaranteed work?
