drawings from past to future

Remember when going scotch (if from the south), or going down to the smoke (if from the north), was long distance?
When Middle East work was readily available?.
When driving a 111 or F89 meant you were truly the king of the road?
Recall those companies long gone, where every day was an adventure?

What ever happened to those drivers you spent hours with.. where did they go? and recollect on those characters in the industry sadly no longer with us.
This forum is for us all to indulge in a little nostalgia and remember with rose coloured glasses how much better it was in the olden days

Ah-ha! You have revived the Rolls Royce Eagle-engined long-hauler with the Motor Panels sleeper and 9-sp Fuller - brilliant! Robert

Now can we also have the CV12 powered classic Pete conventional with that grille put on the front of it. :D

Some inspiration for the mythical beast here and don't forget to put the RR badges on the engine cover sides.

Blimey it looks like a cross between a 1940's Wraith limo and a Scammell Highwayman and to add insult to injury the CV12 ain't even going to fit. :( Maybe Robert could photoshop the Rolls grille onto a Scammell Commander instead and we'll see what that looks like. But trust me that grille will work best stuck on the front of the classic Pete.

Not just sure which part of the IOM they were from Chris but they were being stabled at this farm next door to our depot while they were waiting to return to the island. They belonged to a farmer called Jack Collinson who had originally moved from near Carnforth ( after selling his farm to Farnley Sand & Gravel) to the IOM and he was big competitor in the Horse driving world. Cheers Dennis.

A shot of "The Crew" on a Brady 680 Power Plus Octopus, my long gone mate Eric at the wheel and me stood by the side. That Octopus and trailer was a replica built be a chap called Ray Stevens which had originally been a Shell tanker and it had the 600 Leyland engine. All the same it was a credit to Ray and his workmanship and he was pleased that Eric and I were the "real deal" Cheers benkku Dennis.
