so i first started my journey to getting a hgv licence at the beginning of the year.
I have had my medical and i sent off for my provisional licence straight after leaving the doctors.
the doctor wrote on my medical form that i had not had a eye test in the last 18 months so the DVLA refused my application until i proved i could see.
I had an eye test and sent away for my licence again.
today i received a letter from the DVLA saying i sent the wrong fee. they want £17, not much i know but as far as i understood no fee is needed to gain the provisional entitlement. (i even asked on this forum).
Have i missed something?
I cant think of anything you’ve missed. But, for speed, I would send it back with the £17 and a letter asking why. They really are very good at returning incorrect fees IME.
Good luck, Pete
thanks for the reply i will do that then. i hope they dont just take the money with no explanation.
Sometimes they give you a code with the returned form to add to the envelope if its part processed, which speeds things up. Might not apply in this case.
