Fuel escalator prices

Just wondering what source of current weekly prices do people use to work their % alteration off?
Observably my own prices would be the best source, but I was thinking of an online source that I could use and the customer can also easily access, so they can see Im not trying to rip them off. My fuel card prices arrive by text so would be a pain having to forward them on. A couple Ive seen, rac.co.uk/drive/advice/fuel-watch/
I know those prices are inclusive of vat but easy enough to work back to plus vat.
Is there any thing else out there as an accepted and reliable source?
Thanks in advance.

Rha do a weekly fuel price report thingy i believe.

Yes your correct, I was looking for some thing that the customer can view without subscription or membership, just to keep it open and transparent, ideally with prices before vat to save them having to calculate.

Thanks

I will not tell customers anything other than the rate for the job on the day, infact mostly I just send the invoice without talking money ,however I do know that one company who are in a pallet network system thing charge 8% fuel surcharge currently .

That’s my usual way of working as well.

This job Im putting the escalator on, is a seasonal job for 2 vehicles daily for about 20 weeks, pervious years Ive stood any fuel price changes, within my initial price. This time the`s not much scope for an increase in the rate enough to cover potential fuel rises, especially the way the price has gone the last couple of months, hence the escalator.

Few ways of doing this, weekly price adjustment depending on fuel. Or put 10ppl on the price of fuel and bang your quote in with that in mind.
