drawings from past to future

Remember when going scotch (if from the south), or going down to the smoke (if from the north), was long distance?
When Middle East work was readily available?.
When driving a 111 or F89 meant you were truly the king of the road?
Recall those companies long gone, where every day was an adventure?

What ever happened to those drivers you spent hours with.. where did they go? and recollect on those characters in the industry sadly no longer with us.
This forum is for us all to indulge in a little nostalgia and remember with rose coloured glasses how much better it was in the olden days

A few of the motors that were on contract to Walki, they were one of my favourite customers a great firm to work for and I always got on very well with the Finns who ran Walki's.

The last shot of the 6x2 was the very last Scania I bought in 1995 at Bewick Transport prior to joining the WRM Group.

Come to think of it Danne I haven't seen a Willi Betz or Stobart truck in a while either...... But I did see a Smitz Cargo Bull fridge getting dragged round Brisbane by a fairly new Scania a few months ago which cheered me up a bit.....

Saw a bloke in a truck stop out near Mount Isa wearing a Stobart cap... He was with a tourist bus ( he didn't even take a photo of any trucks )

The new Scania looks as if they already had its mid-term facelift drawn up before they released the vehicle for sale in its present form. Let's hope the 2024 model looks more like an LB110. Having said that, no point in wishing one's life away- plenty of 110s to look at right now: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=scani ... 47&bih=691
