John was 1 of 5 man team (1 German, 1 British, 3 French) taking part in weight lifting competion for French equivelant of Children in Need
they beat last years record of 221 tonnes by lifting 259 tonnes in 1 hour, lifting 5 x 70kg at a time in turn
I don’t understand this but it sounds some feat
it was on French TV Saturday night and in the local press
