Rationing next...

I put a tenner on that we will see fuel rationing next, under the pretext of "stopping unnecessary journeys ", followed by food and or alcohol rationing, under pretext of “preserving vital stocks/avoiding alcohol induced violence etc”, and possibly a limit on money you can take out of your OWN account, under the pretext of “avoiding a run on the bank/limiting black marketeering”…

He, you accepted house arrest, you accepted government handouts instead of independence, you accepted arbitrary healthcare and testing, and you asked for more, the government (what little will be left) will happily oblige.

Be interesting when they ask why we haven’t delivered any food to either the food factories or RDC’s when we can’t get to work due to fuel rationing.

I too am wondering what the next steps in the shift to a police state will be, why are so many are welcoming the losses of freedoms their forebears won hard and calling for more of the same, do they think it will only affect those they despise.

Govt? hah Parliament sent home and they obliged willingly, Her Maj’s loyal opposition comprises a few odd brave writers and journalists worthy of the name, and ever few members of the public still capable of independent thought who can see where this is leading, what is left of the labout party having abdicated their role and cheering on the new world order hoping no doubt for a new socialist world govt headed by a Blair Merkel and Obama unholy pact.

What the point of fuel rationing , most folks cars are on
There drives doing nothing

Is your Middle name TROLL, what a load of Verbal Diarrhoea. Best you get outside for a breath of fresh air. Being cooped up has addled your brain into believing your own rantings. Very sad individual.

It may just possibly be because it will help the NHS workers that already are working extremely hard and also just may save a few more lives.

It ain’t hard,STAY AT HOME,and save lives instead of moaning and feeling sorry for yourselves. You have no idea of real hardship.

Well said jake. We are a nation that can’t cope with being told no. Even when it saves lives and helps out the stretched NHS. Sad really.

Pontificates the man living comfortably on his pension.

Saving a few more strangers lives means very little to people trying to feed their family, or trying to keep a roof over their head.

I wonder if the people during the 2nd World war being told to obey black out rules, saw that as loss
of their freedom.

Or do their bit for the country, farmers are trying to force the government to allow up to 30,000 eastern Europeans to come into the country, but it’s doubtful that will happen during the current crisis, but the Government calls on Britons to pick fruit and veg as farms face worker shortages over coronavirus, not like there is a shortage of labour, plus it gets ya out the house and a wage.

Really? Still using the old and tired WWII comparison?

I’ll indulge.

The real threat was bombers using lights as aiming points. So the black out was instigated. Sensible, and not otherwise or unnecessarily interfering with peoples life.

To counter a virus, the main two things to do, is hygiene, so washing hands and using disinfectant, and avoiding close contact. Both of those could be achieved, without putting the population under house arrest.

Instead, the government, afterseveral weeks of misinformation, inaction, uturns and diddering, orders people to stay at home, loose their income, work, routine, and in the process does untold damage to the future employment prospects and general wellbeing of the population.

What gets me most, is the constant “saving one live” mantra. We will all die, that’s an inevitable part of being alive. This is a virus, its natures way of dealing with a threat, and part of the circle of life. We, as a people, need to accept that we will die, and some of us sooner than we’d like.

Want to try this instead?

Yeah, right… I asked Jakey if he would be volunteering to go and pick vegetables. He’s been uncharacteristically quiet on that one…
