One good piece of advice is to unfold the crane from the mast side so that it does not open out above your head. They have a habit of collecting water which will give the unwary an impromptu shower
Don’t be tempted to fold it completely up from the mast side, even though they usually have a marker on the slew ring to point to the stow position there can often be hoses and pipes etc that could damaged if it is slightly out of alignment. I always walk round and finish off so I can see it down safely.
Too right the Hmf holds water and the extra long extensions stick out the wrong end if not in correctly which means they end up below chassis level as in stuffed in to the hyd tank
