Truckers poems

Do not confuse this post with a pointless and uninteresting post.
As most of you know, I love reading and writing poetry, and of late I have come across truckers poems written by other truck drivers. I thought there may be only a handful of truck drivers who would even bother reading them and why I have never bothered sharing my own. It turns out that lots of truck drivers enjoy reading them too. So before knocking this post just see and read one for yourself and you may be surprised. thetruckersreport.com/categ … ers-poems/

I knew a bloke down on his luck,
And was thick, and fat as [zb],
He liked to litter,
Wished he was fitter,
Turns out he drives a truck…

I once was a Barber & crimper,
But cut someone’s ear & they started to whimper,
So I bought an old Jag,
Then a Lidl carrier bag,
And now I’m an agency limper…

And how many truck drivers can relate to the final line of this little poem. It really makes you sit up and think doesn’t it. A waste of life?

I See A Lot From My Windshield
I see the seasons pass
I see the sunrise
I see the sunset
I see the stars
I see the moon
I see happy families
I see trucks and cars
I see life going by through my Windshield

I once knew a guy called Frank,
Who loved to polish his tank.
Bought light bars & sockets,
Out of his very own pockets,
And his wages were totally wan…

it certainly made me sit bolt upright enough to do this little ditty.

there was a young lady called drake

who fell out of her boat on a lake

a man in a punt

pulled her out by the

elbow

and said
im sorry, but you cant swim here, its private. :open_mouth:

A man knocked at Heaven’s gate
his face was scarred and old.
He stood and asked the man of fate
for admission to the fold.
“What have you done” St. Peter asked
“to gain admission here?”
“I have driven a lorry sir,
for many a long year”.
The pearly gates swung open wide,
St. Peter touched the bell,
“Come in and take your place” he said

  • “you’ve had your share of Hell”.
