The first waggon that I ever drove was a Bedford QL, Army waggon. It had been built in 1944 and had spent most of it,s life in Malaya, where I drove it inthe early 1950,s. I expect that it is still lying in the swamp, somewhere North of Ipoh, into which I drove it, when a spider the size of a dinner plate landed on me arm as I hung me right arm out of the window to tune up me Bronzie. I was not popular with the lads in the back, as they took their unexpected dip in the ooze.
Me ears are still burning
My first truck was a 1990 Leyland Roadrunner 7.5 tonner flatbed with a sleeper cab…it took me all over the country and never let me down…then i moved up to a brand new N reg Iveco Eurocargo 7.5 tonner flatbed.Once i passed my class1 i went onto a Daf 2500 and then an ERF E10 325 with the twin splitter 'box…i loved that truck.
