It’s not bs at all if your prepared to work you’ll get work, granted it might not be the job you want with a brand new truck and trailer but you’ll get work balls to all the doubters.

Hi Mate, I passed my C licence in 2008 and just rang all haulage companies within a 30 mile radius of home popped into as many as I could did 2 weeks as drivers mate with agency then 1 of the companies I popped into rang and asked if I was still looking for a job, started there straight away on general haulage picked the brains of the experienced drivers cut my teeth there for 3 years then moved on to pastyres new. would tend to agree with them that say appearance and attitude get you a long way… Good luck
I may get slated for this, but depending on where in the UK you are, it might be worth giving the old green devils a try.
Stobarts do give new drivers a chance, the kit is reasonably decent, the work is easy and they will train you up with all the stupid rules and regs.
The money isn’t brilliant, but not as bad as a lot think, depending on what shift etc.
And even if it is as bad as all the obviously ex stobart drivers on here claim, you will have gained some of the much needed experience to help you get a job with one of the more professional outfits in our green and pleasant country.
