You might actually enjoy this latest T&D blag - GEARBOXES!

I had a Seddon Atkinson 400 with an E290 ■■■■■■■ and 6spd Allison auto, ex Watneys Brewery. UGC 844W, nothing could touch it away from the lights, it liked a drop of diesel though, probably because it was flat out at 65mph and that was where it sat all day long.

Just scanned through quickly if it’s like Facebook truck pages it will be full of tales of 320 erfs with twinsplitter and special treatment at the factory meaning it could beat euro trucks with 200 more bhp while pulling twice the weight

Just got a better picture from a mate on the FB tank transporters site showing a better picture of the gearchange on a MK3 Antar. Note the luxurious cab and hi tech window demisters!

I haven’t got time to read through 3 pages of posts on this one but I would like to pop in an honorable mention for the original I-Shift gearbox.

Almost single-handedly convinced the big fleets that Auto was the way to go.

I know its fairly modern compared to some of the stuff you more experienced chaps will be talking about but I think that with the exceptional possibility of the Variomatic in cars, its going to be impossible to find a gearbox that has had a greater effect on a type of vehicle.
