Comparing this story to the accident on the A144 that came to court recently seems even worse now.
A hard one to call if the skid marks proved that the bike was doing a reason able speed then the HGV made a bad call but then again it it everybodies responsibility to drive at a speed that you can react to situations I’ve certainly been lost before and I think the court where unduly harsh.
The family of the biker think the sentance is too light!
NSH pointed out that turning right would have you blocking the road in a similar fashion, should we all be parked up or staying at home when it’s foggy, if we risk jail for venturing out?
I really can’t believe there isn’t more to this case than has been reported.
I think your right Andyroo.

Or he just had a bum lawyer, where were the experts to help defend the guy.
Who does/did he work for, surely to god they could have done more
I think it’s disgusting. If you can’t stop within the distance you can see ahead then you’re going too fast.
[armour gear on] From what I see on the roads, the vast majority of bikers ride like [zb] anyway and the accident statistics only back that up.[armour gear off].
Cheers.
i have to agree with rob , if you are in control of any type of vehicle you are responsible for it therefore if you cannot stop within the visable range the “accident” is your fault i do have sympathy for the bikers family but why send a driver to jail for doing his job? dont we all miss turns ,dont we all do turns in a similar fashion? the people in the courts who sentace drivers for thiskind of thing rarely drive more than 2 foot a day and havent got a clue about real driving
