Working early Sunday morn after Friday night shift

biggriffin:
O dear, another who can’t hack it,.

In the oldern days before snowflakes, and elfs’n’saftey, we was told, don’t stop untill your tired, have a sleep and crack on some more.

It’s not the 1970s anymore. These days when something goes wrong, “they” need someone to blame.

To the op, play them at their own rules, state health and safety concerns. If you’re not fit to drive, dont drive.

This is where your union comes in handy…wait…you are in a union are you not??

Got to agree with you mate, …use their own stick of compliance to rules and policies to hit them with. :sunglasses:

All that big balls hero stuff is fine if you’re an owner driver, I know I’ve done it, but it was for ME and MY benefit.
For an employer, the way things are geared up these days?
Not a ■■■■ chance in hell…and I certainly ain’t a ‘snowflake’ .

Work and do things 100% by the book, and there is ■■■■ all they can do. :bulb:

Only as bad as places where you start at 5 am work to 6 7 pm. Then have to drive home then be up again about 4 next day 5 days a week

That depends on how far away you live from the yard.
Whenever I got back to the yard late in the past, if they would not pay me a night out in the yard (they wouldn’t) I would say ok, fair enough, I’m off home but I’ll be back in no sooner than 12 hours…ie 11 hours REST :bulb: …no way in hell I was taking only 9 off for them.
(I live less than half an hour away btw)

Well, I went in for 6am in the end.

Nobody even bloody noticed as there was only one guy scheduled to come into traffic office and he got in at 8am lol. Did 80% of my round due to no traffic and most of the industrial estates being shut anyway.

And I still fitted in a fry up and a snooze on my break.

So no need to worry,
