Yes, it would be solicitor for me, most will give you a half hour free to discuss your case. Use a proper one, not one of these no win no fee types.

By suing the firm puts jobs at risk with the financial payout. If you were aware the cab step was faulty and it made you slip, part of the blame comes down to you too. Why not have used the first and second step to get in and out of the cab?
I am not having a go at you.But they gave you a job.A lot of firms may not have fixed the step.
Rubbish… The employer has insurance to cover the claim…any compensation will not come out of the company coffers… the premium may increase next year, but there will be no other financial impact on the company.
On a similar matter my brother had a work related accident… The employer he was working for at the time didn’t provide PPE. After his accident the MD told him to get a claim in via a solicitor…he stated it was cheaper to pay the increased premiums in his insurance should there be a claim, than to provide PPE for all his drivers every year. My brother had his claim paid within 18 months, standard timescale.
Get the claim in, you have nothing to lose. If you have Legal protection on an insurance policy, eg contents insurance, give them a ring…they will sort out a solicitor for you…and in the event you do lose, your policy will cover all costs. That’s what you pay the extra legal protection fee on your policy for.
